I’m Christa King, CEO & Founder of Fitlandia as well
Through my own fitness journey, I saw how broken the diet and fitness industries were and set out on a mission to help people engage the power of thought to start living a life of vitality. And I personally experienced many of the fad diet fails I know you have.
But, I had a resilient spark in me. From a very young age, I would always tell my parents, “There’s a solution to every problem.” While I had a traumatic childhood, I was determined to find ways to bring peace, joy, and abundance into my life despite any obstacles thrown at me.
But unfortunately, like many of us, I didn’t learn the best coping skills and relied on sugar, alcohol and refined carbs to self-soothe. It was the only way my brain knew how to make me feel “safe.” The reward center in the brain is quite the powerful influence. And from that, my unhealthy patterns were created.
My mission now is to help people understand how their brain can be rewired to make living a healthy lifestyle easy and fun; that they have the power to change through the thoughts, self-talk, beliefs and perceptions they hold.
I was an analyst in my corporate career and when I embarked on my own wellness journey, I became very curious about why nearly 70% of all people “fail” to reach or maintain their fitness goals.
Through all of my research I came to understand there are four key components needed to be successful. For those of us with a long history of food and/or alcohol abuse, paying special attention to these cornerstones is particularly important.
The Four Cornerstones of Fitness include:
There are a myriad of diets, programs, pills, powders and what-not out there in the wellness and fitness world.
But there are some basic core values and a style that I deliver in all of my programs that resonates with many and not-so-much with others. The most successful members in Fitlandia identify with these statements:
*Our 30 Days to Thriving program follows a paleo-style dietary strategy. For more info on the eating philosophy we subscribe to, I highly recommend reading, “Food, What the Heck Should I Eat?” from Dr. Mark Hyman. That and my other faves can be found on the Fitlandia Shopping Site.
Should you opt for a VIP experience with me, which includes one-on-one support and coaching, you should know this about me:
I will come at you with love, compassion and a nurturing approach to help you explore and understand your old patterns.
That being said, I will also be very direct, honest and let you know when your words and actions are in conflict with each other. I’m not going to waste your money nor my time with blatant placating. You’re a badass, remember.
You should know, I am a therapy junkie and believe we should all be working with them so don’t be surprised if I nudge you in that direction.
Lastly, I tend to curse…quite a bit. If you said, “Fuck yeah” to that…I think we’ll get along just fine.
I think human beings are fascinating. I want you to know what lights me up as much as I want to learn that about you too! So I’ll start…
I love hair metal and I carry NO shame about that. It’s not even a “guilty” pleasure…just pure pleasure. My running playlist has plenty of Bon Jovi and Motley Crue on it.
People often tell me, they want to come back as one of my pets. We have 5 right now: Bandit, Reba, Sully, Vince & Tommy. Yes, Vince and Tommy were named after Motely Crue’s lead singer and drummer.
I’m obsessed with Telluride, CO. I swear I must have had a past life there. And I’m SO over-the-moon excited that the Mountain Lodge Telluride is the host for the RESET RETREAT in March of 2019.
My nickname is Cricket and no one in my family calls me Christa. You can call me Cricket too. You’re in my fit fam now.
My husband is 11 years younger than me. #fistbump #cougar
My favorite exercise is kettlebells. I love feeling strong and seeing muscle definition. I owe the incredible Tracy Jones (learn about Tracy here).
I was in hospitality Revenue Management for 25 years and still take on projects on the side. It’s my first love after all. P.S. That also makes me an expert in understanding the Type-A Exec.
If I had the looks and talent, I would have been a rock star. No joke.
If you’ve read all this and you’re vibing with me, let’s crush life together. Let’s get you out of your old thoughts and into new ones that reflect who you truly are:
